March 2021 - The book 'Die schönsten Fleischmann Anlagen' celebrates its 40th anniversary.

In 1981 a book for the Fleischmann model railroaders came on the market through the German publisher Alba. The writer Gernot Balcke introduces in this book a multitude of layouts in both 1:87 and in the small scale 1: 160. The many model plans appeal to the imagination, it is a pity that the predominantly black and white photos do not do justice to the layouts. Yet many model railroaders got their inspiration for their own layout in the attic or in the basement.

Gernot Balcke is no stranger to model railroaders. He has written several books, including Modelbaan Scenery, Wir bauen eine Modellbahn and of course also Märklin Modellbahnen. He also wrote several parts of the book series Modellbahn Praxis and Kleine Modellbahn Reihe. Book series that are on the bookshelf of many hobbyists.

These beautiful Fleischmann Anlagen can still be found now and then onauction sites like eBay. However, supply and demand determine the price of this book and that can be cheap or sometimes (too) expensive.
