April 2024 - Fleischmann catalogue 1982.
The cover shows the showpiece from 1981. This model of the P8 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft even won the title "Model of the Year 1981". An appreciation to be proud of. The locomotives was a bestseller in the Netherlands.
A black version of the P8 (under item number 4161) was released this year for model railroaders based on the Dutch Railways. The locomotive was equipped with Dutch logos and box numbers as standard, labels were included for other European railway companies.
Among the steam locomotives, item number 4019, a simplified version of the locomotive from the class 89 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the class 53 of the DRG (item number 4124) were the further novelties.
Among the diesel locomotives, the biggest novelty was the series 218 (item number 4232) in the well-known red DB colors. For the Belgian model railway enthusiasts there was the diesel locomotive from the series 202 of the SNCB.
Further novelties were some carriages and freight wagons. The most striking was the six-axle coil wagon with sliding hoods (item number 5387).
But the most important news of 1982 was the introduction of the Profi rails. Finally there was an affordable rail system with a bed. This rail system would ultimately last 40 years and can be found on many model railways!
